Provide technical support under the direction of the Level 2 and Level 3 Materials Engineers.\n\n The Materials Technician will be responsible for some and/or a combination of the key responsibilities below.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\nAssist in analyzing and reporting accept/ reject conclusions using internal, customer and industry specifications\nProvide internal communication with multifunctional departments regarding process concerns, product investigations, process improvement projects, etc.\nPreparation of samples for metallographic analysis\nInput data for daily tracking of lab metrics\nAssist in prioritizing daily Lab workflow\nProvide Engineering and Customer support (as required)\nManage all etchant materials (expired, no longer used, proper disposal, etc.)\nEnsure job request packets are present, accurate and complete\nDaily hardness test equipment validation (logged and tracked)\nGeneral Lab housekeeping (fume hood, saw area, sample prep area, etc.)\nPerform all required Round Robin Testing\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n\nBachelor of Science Degree (BS)\nStrong organizational and communication skills\nAbility to work with multidisciplinary teams\nAbility to read and interpret Engineering Drawings\nStrong computer skills (MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)\nStrong time management skill\nAbility to adjust to changing priorities\n\nDesired Qualifications:\n\nEffective written and oral communication skills\nBasic manufacturing environment knowledge\nSafety and Compliance minded\nAbility to adapt to changing priorities\nBasic awareness of AS9100/ ISO 9001, ISO17025\nPrior materials lab experience is a plus\nUse of digital microscopes\nKnowledge of superalloys and manufacturing processes (vacuum brazing, welding, EDM, etc.)\nExperience with round robin testing\nASM course work completion\n\nDue to the company’s military contractor status, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident of the United States and must provide evidence of citizenship or immigration status upon applying for the position.
