General Description / ObjectiveThe Friona Mill Manager Supervises and coordinates the activities of team members engaged in the care of the feed mill at the Feedyard facility.Adheres to safety policies, responsible for expense management and Beef Quality Assurance Handling Guidelines.The Mill Manager adds value and quality services to the Mill Department by ensuring safe, and quality feed processes in a timely manner. Successful candidates should be highly participative, team-orientated, and have high levels of communication.Roles and Tasks Mill Department: Manage a team of 7-11 individuals, monitoring all mill tasks.Manage controls and scales to produce a consistent, top-quality ration per the Nutritionist guidelines.Maintain necessary records to ensure proper physical inventory in the ration.Schedule ration flow with feeders to provide maximum efficiency and minimum carryover of finished ration.Know the location of all mill machinery.Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean working environment to ensure a safe working environment.Continual observation and adherence to safety policies and proceduresMaintains inventory at desired levels.Fulfills all reporting and record-keeping requirements.Adhere to HR policies and best practices.The Employer retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position.Profile / Professional Competencies Education Requirements :Bachelor’s degree in animal science or agriculture-related field.Prefer at least three (1-3) years working with animal production.Experience in lieu of education considered. Specific Knowledge :Able to troubleshoot mechanical problems.Experience with schedulingExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Comfort with a fast-paced environment3+ years of experienceKnowledge of industry regulations and guidelinesEnsures a safe working environment while performing assigned tasks.Able to lead and create a safe environment.Position Requirements Special Conditions / Requirements :Walking, standing, and engaging in movement throughout the day.variety of physical activities including bending, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, standing, working in enclosed areas, climbing stairs or ladders, and operating heavy machinery.Work may be performed in cold and/or hot temperatures and the environment can be dusty.Work closely with the Leadership team at the facility.
