In this role, you will be the quality champion on the production floor — helping ensure every component, subassembly, and finished product meets the highest standards for safety, reliability, and ISO 9001:2015 compliance.\nYou'll get hands-on experience with new designs straight from Engineering/R&D, supporting first article inspections, problem-solving real issues as they happen, and helping us scale builds from prototype to full production. You'll work side-by-side with experts across Production and Engineering, mentor junior technicians, and contribute directly to improvements that reduce defects, increase throughput, and delight our customers.\nCore Responsibilities by Competency Area\nCurrent-State Responsibilities\nServe as the SME for inspection methods, metrology, calibration, and test systems\nLead full CAPA lifecycle — detection investigation root cause corrective action verification\nLead internal audits and support regulatory/customer audit readiness\nEnsure accurate documentation and traceability within the QMS\nNear-Term Expectations\nDevelop and monitor quality metrics and dashboards; communicate trends and risks\nCreate, approve, and maintain SOPs, control plans, inspection criteria, and checklists\nPartner with Engineering/R&D for NPI — first article inspections, validation, and manufacturability improvements\nForward-Looking Capabilities\nChampion continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap and increase throughput\nDrive quality readiness activities for higher-volume production and line startup\nProvide technical guidance on process capability (Cp/Cpk), reliability data, and design feedback\nStartup / Ramp-Up Agility\nInfluence standardization and scalability in evolving environments\nPromote a culture of proactive quality including layered process audits (LPAs)\nSupport troubleshooting during engineering builds and design iterations\nLeadership & Mentorship\nTrain and mentor cross-functional operators\nProvide credible quality leadership during issue resolution on the floor\nKey Duties\nLead root cause analysis using 5-Why, Fishbone, Fault Tree, or similar\nMaintain nonconformance records, defect containment, and verification of effectiveness\nConduct complex dimensional analysis, fit checks, and high-risk product testing\nValidate accuracy of measurement instruments and maintain calibration standards\nContribute to PFMEA and risk control improvements\nReinforce safety, housekeeping, and compliance within all activities\nRequired Skills & Experience\n4–6+ years' experience in manufacturing quality roles (electronics or electro-mechanical preferred)\nAdvanced use of precision measurement and product testing equipment\nProven experience driving CAPA and systemic quality improvements\nISO 9001:2015 knowledge required; Internal Auditor training or ASQ certification preferred\nStrong communication skills — ability to influence without authority\nSolid understanding of technical drawings, BoM, and specifications\nQuality data analysis and reporting\nEducation\nHigh school diploma or GED required\nAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, or Technical field preferred\nWillingness to obtain ASQ and/or Internal Auditor certification (if not already earned)\nPhysical & Work Environment Requirements\nFrequent time on production/testing floor near moving equipment\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver in equipment-dense areas\nStanding, walking, reaching, bending for extended periods\n\nOther Important Information\nThis job description is intended to describe the general content and requirements for the performance of this role.
