Learns to install and maintain all network hardware and software; diagnose and document hardware and software network problems in a timely and accurate manner. Perform related work.\r\nTypical Duties and Responsibilities\r\nCollaborate with IT Staff to learn how to analyze network performance and isolate network issues.\r\nProvide system support for all aspects of cabling and networking hardware and software products.\r\nLearn to monitor network hardware and software including routers, switches, wireless controller, VPN appliances, and PBX's.\r\nMonitor network performance and respond to alerts as necessary.\r\nMonitor, test, and report on network performance.\r\nPractice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory.\r\nParticipate in research on network products, services, and protocols.\r\nPrepare procedure manuals and help sheets for network installations.\r\nRequirements\r\nEducation\r\nAssociates in a technology related discipline or demonstrated equivalent experience.\r\nExperience\r\nDemonstrating knowledge of network hardware and operating systems.\r\nDemonstrating knowledge of SNMP MIB network performance monitoring.\r\nDemonstrating familiarity with network routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, HSRP, VRRP), switching protocols (LaCP, Etherchannel).\r\nExhibiting strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.\r\nPreferred Education, Experience and/or Credentials:\r\nCCENT, ATSP\r\nCCNA, ACMA\r\nThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature of work performed by the employees assigned to this job.
