The differences between classifications are the level of mastery of the essential functions, the degree of supervision required when performing these functions, and the amount of lead direction provided to others.\r\nTechnician I: Entry-level class. The Technician works under close supervision, performing the essential functions at an adequate level.\r\nTechnician II: Journey-level class. The Technician works under general supervision, independently performing the essential functions at an advanced level.\r\nTechnician III: Expert-level class. The Technician works with minimal supervision and has mastered the knowledge and skills needed to perform the essential functions.\r\nEssential Functions\r\n\r\nObserve and follow Ormat's environmental and operational rules, procedures, and guidelines.\r\nStrictly adhere to and enforce safety procedures as required by ORMAT, CAPP, and OSHA.\r\nEnsure work is done in compliance with electrical (NEC and NFPA) codes.\r\nInstall, program, inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair low, medium, and high voltage electrical equipment.\r\nInstall and calibrate analog and discrete instrumentation and control valves.\r\nRead, understand and effectively utilize technical information from electrical schematics, vendor information, procedures and codes.\r\nPerform voltage, current and resistance calculations and checks with appropriate meter.\r\nCalibrate and use test equipment associated with the power plant electrical and safety systems. Interpret readings and outputs of equipment.\r\nParticipate in planning and scheduling maintenance activities.\r\nCreate and modify reports and records associated with the electrical systems of the power plant.\r\nPerform corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation equipment.\r\nProvide recommendations for reliability improvements.\r\nMust be able to operate a vehicle in a safe manner, enter and exit vehicle without assistance, remain alert while driving for continuous period of time and read and understand maps.\r\nMust be able to work weekends and/or holidays when necessary.\r\nMust be able to work overtime as required.\r\nMust be able to travel extensively to other locations, including rural areas and other states to work on other projects.\r\nWhen assigned as an EI&C Technician 2 or 3:\r\nPerforms programming for information systems; programs with ladder logic and relay logic; operates PLCs, RTUs and associated inputs/outputs; operates VFDs; performs telecommunications networking.\r\nEnsures proper operation of SCADA and HMI systems; identifies and troubleshoots issues pertaining to these systems.\r\n\r\nOther Responsibilities\r\n\r\nPerform environmental and general housekeeping duties.\r\nAttend Monthly Safety and Maintenance training.\r\nAbility to respond to emergency calls\r\nParticipate in regular training to improve performance, acquire professional licenses, and maintain certification required by Ormat and government regulations.\r\nPerform other duties as directed.\r\nWhen assigned as an EI&C Technician 2:\r\nProvide coaching and guidance to junior Electrical, Instrument and Control Technicians.\r\nProcess work orders, assist in inventory, and requisitioning of parts and supplies\r\nSearch for and eliminate organizational weaknesses and jobsite conditions that create conditions for error.\r\nWhen assigned as an EI&C Technician 3:\r\nProvide coaching and guidance to junior Electrical, Instrument and Control Technicians.\r\nProcess work orders, assist in inventory, and requisitioning of parts and supplies\r\nSearch for and eliminate organizational weaknesses and jobsite conditions that create conditions for error.\r\nPeriodically observe fellow maintenance technicians while performing work activities to ensure proper procedures, techniques, and safety guidelines are being followed.\r\n\r\nEducation, Experience, and Skills Required\r\n\r\nThe ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the areas of assignment as would be acquired in three to four years of high school.\r\nThree (3) years of experience in the power generation or similar process industries.\r\nEI&C Technician 2: Five (5) years of experience in the power generation or similar process industries.\r\nEI&C Technician 3: Seven (7) years of experience in the power generation or similar process industries.\r\nHands-on experience in operations, maintenance and project implementation related to power production, turbine-generators, auxiliary equipment, power and control systems.\r\nThe ability to read process control documentation such as process flow diagrams, control logic block diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, electrical schematics, circuit diagrams and wiring diagrams.\r\nAbility to methodically troubleshoot electrical and control systems.\r\nMust be able to communicate with other employees and read and write at a level that will enable performing the job duties safely and efficiently\r\nMust be able to use and acquire knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation.
