Financial Controller

With a focus on customer satisfaction, Valley Corporation takes pride in ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards.The Controller leads Valley Corp's accounting and financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and sound financial decision-making. This role oversees the accounting function, budgeting, cash flow, job cost reporting, and financial analysis to support company performance and growth. The Controller partners closely with leadership and operations to provide insight into profitability, project performance, and overall financial health.Key ResponsibilitiesLead all day-to-day accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, fixed assets, and month-end closePrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reportsDevelop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projectionsPerform variance analysis and provide recommendations to leadershipOversee job costing, work-in-progress reporting, and project profitability analysisPartner with operations leaders to monitor labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costsMaintain internal controls, accounting procedures, and compliance standardsManage banking relationships, cash disbursements, and liquidity planningSupport external audits, tax preparation, and financial reviewsSupervise accounting staff and improve department processes and workflowsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required5+ years of progressive accounting or finance leadership experienceConstruction or project-based accounting experience strongly preferredStrong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, and internal controlsExperience with Sage 100 Contractor and preferredStrong Excel, analytical, and leadership skills
