This position is responsible for filling pillows/cushion ticks (covers) with natural feather, down or polyester fiber products. Lifting on a repetitive basis is required with this position.Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence.Skills/Requirements:Ability to read and interpret work ordersFill fiber and feather backs and seatsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentMaintain stead work pace in a high-volume departmentMust be able to read and interpret a tape measurePerform basis math skillsAdditional Responsibilities:Hold tick (cover) over the port to allow the blowing of filler material into the pillow/cushion ticks.Weigh each filled pillow/cover on a scale to maintain quality standards based on customer specifications.Move the filled ticks (covers) to the end closing area to enclose the openings.Learn how to enclose the pillows/cushions using the enclosing (sewing) machine.Prior experience in fiber manufacturing environment preferred but not required.Major duties and responsibilities of the job can be satisfactorily performed with a high school education or GEDWork Hours: Sunday-Thursday 9:00 pm-5:30 am depending on business needsHourly Rate: $20.20 - $20.79 per hour with $1.00 shift differential for all hours worked on 3rd shift.No agencies or phone callsCarpenter Co. offers a comprehensive benefits package including excellent health insurance, generous profit-sharing plan, and much more.
