Manager – Application Engineering","description":"About the Role\n\nWe are seeking an experienced Sr. Manager / Director of Application Engineering to serve as the key technical interface between customers and our global engineering and manufacturing teams.\n\nThis role will lead customer-facing engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle, from early-stage connector selection and design support through validation, NPI, production launch, and post-launch issue resolution.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nPartner with customers to understand technical requirements and recommend appropriate connector and interconnect solutions\nSupport early-stage design activities, technical proposals, product demonstrations, and design reviews\nDrive customer design-in and design-win activities\nTranslate customer requirements into product and engineering specifications\nServe as the primary technical interface between customers and internal R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams\nSupport NPI, ECN, DFM, FAI, product qualification, and validation\nCoordinate sample evaluation, testing, and customer approval\nTroubleshoot technical and product issues and drive cross-functional resolution\nGather customer feedback, application insights, and competitive intelligence to support product strategy\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field\n8+ years of Application Engineering / Field Application Engineering experience\nStrong background in connectors, interconnects, or precision electronic components\nDeep understanding of connector design, materials, and manufacturing processes including stamping, molding, and assembly\nExperience supporting global customers and customer-facing technical projects\nAbility to read and interpret 2D/3D drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications\nExperience with CAD tools such as Creo or SolidWorks\nStrong problem-solving, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills\nFluent English and Mandarin Chinese for business and technical communication\nPreferred Experience\nFamiliarity with FMEA, SPC, 8D, PPAP, and APQP\nExperience supporting product development from concept through mass production\nExperience working with global OEMs and engineering teams\nKnowledge of high-speed, RF, automotive, consumer
