Together, we advance your career.\r\nTHE ROLE\r\nAMD is looking for a productization software engineering lead who is passionate about improving AMD's gaming graphics technology stack. You will lead a core team of experienced industry specialists and will work with the very latest hardware and software technology.\r\nTHE TEAM\r\nAMD Advanced Rendering and Engineering is a group of cross-disciplinary teams working at the intersection of graphics research and productization. Our mission is to create cutting-edge software to equip developers and publishers with the tools they need to build immersive, high-performance games optimized for AMD hardware.\r\nTHE PERSON\r\nThe ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to realize the full potential of breakthrough and emerging technologies. You must be able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD and knit together information from a range of specialist domains. A strong technical background in GPU/APU programming, C++ and machine learning is needed while also having a significant influence over the technical direction, and the opportunity to start from first principles on new projects.\r\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\r\nManage and direct a team of experienced games/graphics engineers.\r\nDefine and manage project schedules and deliverables.\r\nWork closely with research engineers to transform proof-of-concept prototypes into mature products at a very high level of quality.\r\nCollaborate with external game development partners to integrate these technologies into their titles.\r\nOptimize, extend, package and document high-level compute shader and C++ code.\r\nStay informed of software and hardware trends and innovations, especially pertaining to algorithms and architecture.\r\nDebug existing issues and research alternative, more efficient ways to accomplish the same work.\r\nDevelop technical relationships with peers and partners.\r\nPREFERRED EXPERIENCE\r\nComputer science background with advanced years of full-time experience writing efficient, modern C++ and high-level shader code (HLSL SM6, GLSL, Slang, etc).\r\nMotivating leader with good interpersonal skills.\r\nEffective communication and problem-solving skills.\r\nKnowledge of real-time rendering and graphics algorithms as used in AAA games.\r\nHighly organized and experienced at planning development schedules, including adapting to changing requirements.\r\nExtensive experience shipping AAA games & game engines or middleware.\r\nExcellent written and verbal English skills.\r\nWilling to occasionally travel, both domestically and internationally.\r\nACADEMIC CREDENTIALS\r\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.\r\nLOCATION\r\nUnited States or Canada\r\nThis role is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship.\r\nBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.\r\nAMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
