As a Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.\nTransdev is proud to offer:\nPosition Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement:\n$28.66 (minimum) - $39.78 (maximum) per hour (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Payscale)\nBenefits include:\nVacation: Up to 20 paid vacation days, based on years of service.\nPersonal Time off (PTO): Up to 15 PTO days annually.\nSick days: 5 days.\nHolidays: 11 paid holidays.\nOther standard benefits: 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental and vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability.\nGuaranteed 4 hours overtime per weekday.\n2nd shift differential.\nASE test registration and testing fees reimbursement plus 3 hours per week of study time during regular work hours.\nTool gift certificates for ASE certifications.\nCDL training available and pay differential for possession of a valid CDL.\nUniforms with weekly laundry service.\nAnnual work boot allowance.\nTuition and book reimbursement.\nEmployee assistance program.\nAbility to advance your career.\nBenefits may vary depending on location policy.\nKey Responsibilities:\nConduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot diesel, propane, and electric engine issues.\nPerform moderate complexity repairs and replacements on diesel, propane, and electric engine components, ensuring optimal functionality.\nAssist A-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.\nExecute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performance.\nLead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel, propane, and electric engines.\nPerform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel, propane, and electric engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.\nProvide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.\nOther duties as required.\nQualifications:\nThree (3) years of experience as a Diesel or Automotive Mechanic.\nBus or heavy-duty truck repair experience preferred.\nMust be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.\nA High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).\nA degree in Automotive Technology, Engineering or a related field preferred.\nMust have a valid driver's license and maintain an excellent motor vehicle record.\nA valid Class B Commercial Driver's License preferred.\nASE certifications in school bus, heavy truck, and/or transit bus preferred.\nMust possess a Mechanic's Tool Set.\nStrong knowledge of HVAC systems, and various heavy equipment engines, transmissions, starting and charging systems, brake systems, electrical systems, and component overhaul procedures.\nAbility to operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, jacks, and hoists.\nAbility to work in a safe manner.\nAbility to comprehend parts books and maintenance manuals, and accurately complete any necessary reports or other documents.\nMust be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.\nSubject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.
