2nd Shift FSQA Technician
Job SummaryFSQA improves how we work—by strengthening systems, developing people, and preventing risk—so safe, consistent, high-quality product is the outcome every day.This is a 2nd shift position.Hours: 1pm-9:30pmDays: Mon-Fri.Role and ResponsibilitiesAdheres to established policies and procedures of The Killer Brownie Co.Sets the standard for food safety behaviors in the room and promotes a strong food safety culture.Monitors and helps ensure food safety and quality through the use of HACCP, SQF, and internal quality standards under the direction of the Food Safety and Quality Supervisor.Maintains and supports continuous improvement of food safety and quality programs.Conducts pre-operational inspections to verify sanitary conditions are met.Inspects labels, packaging, and finished product to verify safety and quality requirements.Performs allergen testing on equipment as needed following allergen runs.Prepares complete, orderly, and accurate documentation and testing records.Responds quickly and appropriately to food safety and quality issues on the line.Monitors hold-and-release processes and places items on hold as needed to comply with the SQF program.Assists with training for all teams on food safety, quality processes, and GMPs.Completes testing and inspection (weights, temperature, and volume) of product at various stages of the production process, from incoming ingredients to finished goods.Implements corrective actions and reports deviations to the FSQA Supervisor.Maintains and operates scales, thermometers, consistometer, refractometer, and other items used for testing and verification.Understands and verifies metal detection procedures and equipment operation.Assists departments with production or sanitation needs, as necessary.Performs with post-maintenance sanitation checks to help prevent contamination following equipment maintenance.Inspects staged labels for quality and accuracy.Completes and submits vendor complaint forms under the recommendation of the FSQA leadership.Maintains accurate and organized records.Performs monthly SQF audits across all three buildings, including:Exterior and groundsCalibrationGeneral audit (facilities, equipment, food defense)Glass and brittle plasticConducts daily GMP audits and monitors corrective actions.Updates and maintains printable rack tag files.Performs swabbing/testing according to the Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP) schedule, including documenting accurate results.Creates and maintains quality reference slides for baking and packaging.Inspects incoming labels for quality and accuracy and reports issues to the Supply Chain Director and Art Director.Ensures certificates of analysis (COAs) are reviewed, saved, and available in NetSuite.Leads food safety training and food safety tours for new team members.Required QualificationsAbility to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced environmentSelf-motivated with strong attention to detailAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsAvailability to work 40 hours per weekSome Saturdays requiredAbility to work overtime and shift hours as necessaryAbility to pull and/or push 300-500-pound rolling racksAbility to bend and lift up to 50 lbs.; stack; and/or carry pans, ingredient containers, etc.Ability to stand for the full shiftHigh school diploma or GEDMicrosoft Office and basic computer skillsPrevious experience in a food manufacturing environment-1 year (quality assurance/food safety preferred)Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with SQF, HACCP, and GMP programsExperience with environmental monitoring (EMP), hygienic zones, allergen swabbing, or related verification activitiesScience background. (Food Science or microbiology)
