With a variety of people, global locations, technologies and products, 3M is a place where you can collaborate with other curious, creative 3Mers.\n\nThe Impact You’ll Make in this Role:\n\nAs a Cryptographic Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining services related to Encryption Keys, Digital Certificates, Remote Key Managers and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), ensuring seamless and secure operations.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nTroubleshoot operational issues for encryption key and certificate related tools/services.\nRespond to client requests for encryption keys and digital certificates with on-call support.\nManage the AWS hosted platforms used to provide centralized storage, issuance, and revocation of encryption keys and digital certificates, including installing, patching, upgrades, vulnerability management, backups, new builds, and data migrations:\nManage the Enterprise Secure Key Lifecycle (ESKM) platform from Utimaco.\nManage the CipherTrust Manager (CTM) platform from Thales.\nManage the Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS) internal Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) platform, including certificate authorities and network device enrollment.\nManage the Venafi platform for certificate management.\nPartner with cloud platform engineering teams in support of Amazon Certificate Manager (ACM), AWS Key Management Service (KMS) and Azure Key Vault.\nCollaborate with IT and security teams to ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.\n\nYour Skills and Expertise\n\nTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:\n\nHigh School Diploma (verified and completed prior to start) and 8 years of experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Security in a private, public, government, or military environment.\n\nOR\n\nBachelor's degree or higher (verified and completed prior to start) and Six (6) years of experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Security, in a private, public, government, or military environment.\n\nAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:\n\nProven experience with AWS as an engineer or architect.\nProven experience managing encryption platforms, such as Enterprise Secure Key Lifecycle (ESKM) and CipherTrust Manager (CTM).\nProven experience managing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) with hands-on experience administering Microsoft Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS).\nProven experience with cloud-based services such as Amazon Certificate Manager (ACM), AWS Key Management Service (KMS) and Azure Key Vault.\nProven experience with certificate management, such as Venafi.\nStrong understanding of cryptographic principles and digital certificate management.\nExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills.\nRelevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar.\nExperience with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.\nFamiliarity with cloud security best practices.\n\nWork Location\n\nOn-site in Maplewood, MN, or Austin, TX office at least 4 days per week\n\nTravel: May include up to 15% domestic/international\n\nRelocation Assistance: Is not authorized\n\nMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).\n\nSupporting Your Well-being\n\n3M offers many programs to help you live your best life – both physically and financially.
