(WMI), an award winning producer of commercial grade lawn equipment, is looking for committed people to join our welding team, assisting the department and team in the manufacture and building of one of the safest, most durable and highest quality lawn equipment in the world.\r\nWe provide paid training for entry-level welders. No experience required.\r\nSecond Shift- 4:00PM-12:30AM\r\n*Additional shift differential for second shift hours\r\n*Overtime may be required on a daily or weekly basis\r\nAll tools, PPE, and equipment to weld is company supplied.\r\nEssential Functions of Welders:\r\nInterpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts\r\nWeld small and large components, including sheet metal, by using machinery that emits high heat, melting the metal together\r\nWeld components in flat and vertical positions\r\nMaintain and repair all machinery\r\nAssess welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify errors\r\nFollow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, hearing protection, eye protection, and safety shoes\r\nMonitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature\r\nRequirements:\r\nQualified candidates for our Welder role should be able to demonstrate:\r\nStrong attention to detail\r\nConsistent work history\r\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints preferred\r\nHigh mechanical aptitude preferred\r\nCompetence with basic hand tools\r\nCoordinated with proficient motor skills and dexterity\r\nAble to work in a fast paced environment\r\nDemonstrate ability to work independently without daily supervision\r\nAbility to effectively interpret and translate instructions to other employees in a professional and respectful manner\r\nBasic problem solving skills\r\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. when required\r\nAbility to regularly stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms\r\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus\r\nAbility to work in an environment that is not climate controlled\r\nAbility to work in a moderate to high noise level environment\r\nExcellent attendance record\r\nEducation and Experience:\r\nAbility to understand basic mechanical and manufacturing techniques\r\nSome welding knowledge preferred\r\nWMI is committed to cross-training and inter-department personnel movements.
