Our associates support the brands with a wide range of services, including Finance, Legal, Sustainability, Commercial, Digital and E-commerce, Technology and more.Primary Purpose: The Staff Platform Engineer will be responsible for engineering, architecting, and delivering world-class solutions for our customers, producing enterprise standard implementations leveraging the platform's full capabilities, and guiding developers to deliver high-quality solutions on MuleSoft. This role will research, design, develop and implement new software in addition to enhancing existing software capabilities. This role will work on various, ambiguous and complex issues, where analysis of situations or data requires an in- depth evaluation of variable factors, thorough understanding of the business strategy, operations, markets and key stakeholders. This role will also collaborate with other Squad members, stakeholders and the Product team to ensure that products meet business, functional, and technical requirements and are scalable in nature. This will include translating business and technical requirements into well engineered, tested, and deployed technology solutions by gathering user requirements, defining system functionality, and writing code in various languages. The Lead Software Engineer can significantly impact a project both as individual technical contributor, technical leader and mentor to more junior Engineers.Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Salisbury, NC, Chicago, IL, Quincy, MA.Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.Duties & Responsibilities:Develop the technical design for solutions based on the defined scope, requirements, and functional design provided by the Product team and other stakeholdersBuild and configure technical components (interfaces, conversions, reports, workflows) so that solution design meets business needs and solution architecture standardsWrite and document programming code to meet the gathered requirementsPerform code reviews and quality assurance to ensure compliance to technical standards and business requirementsCollaborate with Squad to support the Product team to create and refine user stories and acceptance criteriaPrepare development and test environments, conduct test readiness to proceed with testing, and collaborate with to execute testingFix bugs identified during quality assurance and testingContinuously reduce technical debt (e.g., create technical debt stories, remove bugs) and decommission legacy applications and solutionsPerform updates and enhancements to the solution, as neededRelease software into production and perform release testing (system integration, mock conversion, parallel, regression, performance and stress, infrastructure)Identifies opportunities and leads specific initiatives for improving way of working in teams and in eliminating technical debtDevelops solutions to highly complex technical issues and problems that impact multiple areas or disciplinesCommunicates with internal team members across multiple areas and client team membersActs as a project/team leader regarding solution design, process and/or approaches.Responsible for coaching/mentoring junior engineers Consistently delivers very high-quality work in cross-functional environments - seen as a consistent and high-performing technical leader among peersHas a balanced approach to team empowerment and leadership driving successful brainstorming sessions and solid technical conclusions to work approaches while modeling self-accountability, continuous development and team contributionsQualifications: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, CIS or related (or equivalent related work experience)8 or more years of experience in relevant job or field of technologyExpertise in the Databricks, Azure and/or MuleSoft platformsExperience in some of the following: Azure DevOps, GitHub, OpenShift, RTF, AKS, Kafka, TerraformExperience, directly or indirectly, managing, guiding, training and onboarding team members in relevant technologies, capabilities or skillsProven work experience as a Software Engineer or Software DeveloperExperience designing interactive applicationsExperience with test-driven developmentAbility to document requirements and specificationsKnowledge of algorithms and data structuresProficiency in troubleshooting software issues and debugging a large codebasePreferred Qualifications: Masters Degree in relevant field of study, Additional trainings or certifications in relevant field of studyExperience in Agile teams and Product/Platform based operating modelExperience in leading teamsExperience in retail or grocery preferred#DICEJobsSalary Range: $146,960 - $220,440Actual compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on their unique qualifications and experience, internal equity, and market conditions.
