EITs at Austin Civil Engineering will also participate in select and appropriate activities related to project contracts within the Accounting, Business Development and Marketing functions.\nResponsibilities\nCollaborate with Project Managers/PEs and other professionals in the team with initiation, design, analysis, compliance, and documentation of civil engineering and land development design solutions.\nResearch records and conduct site visits and fieldwork to collect data, measurements, and observations to prepare reports to assess the feasibility of proposed projects.\nAssist in the design, drafting and review of plans, specifications, and construction documents for various civil engineering projects and infrastructure such as site plans, traffic control, transportation solutions, water systems, sewage systems, and storm water, drainage systems, etc.\nPerform calculations and simulations to evaluate technical aspects of projects.\nUse computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify design drawings, specifications, and models.\nParticipate in meetings, phone calls and emails with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to review project requirements, progress, and compliance.\nCommunicate effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders to ensure project success.\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams, legal, and design consultants -- including surveyors, architects, environmental scientists, construction personnel, etc. -- to ensure the successful completion of projects.\nPrepare technical reports and presentations for clients, regulators, and other stakeholders.\nSupport project management by organizing files, tracking deadlines, and communicating with team members.\nCoordinate consultant bids and prepare construction cost estimates by researching materials, labor, and equipment prices.\nAssist in managing project budgets, timelines, and resources.\nCoordinate with contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure project specifications and requirements are met.\nConduct on-site inspections to monitor the progress of construction projects, ensure compliance with design specifications and codes, and resolve any issues that may arise.\nRespond to and track construction documentation including material submittals, RFIs, change orders and construction schedules.\nEnsure that projects are completed within established quality, safety, and environmental standards.\nStay up to date with the latest industry standards, technologies, and regulations (especially those affecting development in Central Texas -- City of Austin and surrounding jurisdiction’s Drainage Criteria Manual, Environmental Criteria Manual, and Land Development Codes) through self-study and by attending trainings, seminars, and conferences.\nContribute to the development of new business opportunities by researching project feasibility, applicable codes and regulations, and existing conditions of the property to inform the scope of work for new contracts.\nAccount for individual time and expenses spent performing EIT responsibilities using the standard company time and expense tracking software and procedures.\nPerform other duties as assigned by Project Managers/PEs.\nSkills\nCritical Thinking\nProblem Solving\nInterpersonal Relationship\nVerbal & Written Communication\nTechnical Communication\nCustomer Service\nPlanning\nProfessionalism\nOrganization\nComputer Literacy\nProject Management\nTechnical software knowledge O365, Autodesk Civil 3D, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS\nEducation/Training\nDegree Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering\nExperience\nEIT or PE certification in Civil Engineering is required.
