Assistant to the Dean
Description & Details:Assistant to the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences - The Dean's Office in the College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) at North Dakota State University is the central administrative office for 21 academic departments in the College. The Assistant to the Dean will provide advanced professional assistance for the Dean of CAS. Duties include:* Serving as the primary contact for the Dean* Managing confidential executive communications, calendars, and documentation with high discretion, and other activities as assigned* Representing the Dean's Office to external stakeholders* Providing administrative support for the Dean that includes managing the Dean's calendar, scheduling and organizing meetings, and making necessary arrangements for meetings and telephone coverage* Schedule, attend, and compose and distribute minutes of CAS Leadership Team and College meetings* Coordinate annual Head/Chair evaluation process* Assist Associate Dean in coordination with Dean* Assist Dean with collection of faculty annual reviews and position descriptions* Other duties as assignedWork Schedule:40 hours per week (Monday - Friday)Hiring Range:$55,000-70,000/year commensurate with experiencePay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.Minimum Qualifications:Associate's Degree or 2 years of collegeAt least two years' experience in an administrative roleKnowledge of and experience with standard office equipmentAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and ExcelExceptional oral, written, and organizational skillsEffective interpersonal communication skills, demonstrated by past success in a collaborative professional environmentAbility to work cooperatively in a team environment with a diverse community in a respectful mannerAbility to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environmentPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree3+ years of experience in an administrative roleExperience working in an office setting as an administrative assistantExperience with PeopleSoft softwareExperience with Campus Connection softwareEmployment experience in a higher education settingAbility to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting (up to 25 lbs. unassisted), bending, climbing, or standing for extended periods of timeApplicant Materials Required:* Cover letterResumeOur commitment to caring for our employees isn't just words-it's proven.
