Physician Assistant | Surgery - Trauma Location: Texas Employer: AAS Locum Tenens Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position A leading 495-bed acute care hospital in West Texas is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its Trauma & Acute Care Surgery team within a high-volume, Level II Trauma Center. This program is undergoing continued growth and will support a new surgical residency program launching July 2026, offering a dynamic clinical and academic environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced APP who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting and values a collaborative, team-based approach to patient care. Program Highlights: Level II Trauma Center 495-bed full-service acute care hospital Anticipated Annual Volumes: Trauma Activations: 1,618 Trauma Admissions: 1,006 Acute Care Surgery (ACS) Operative Volume: 473 Active development of a residency training program (launching July 2026) Collaborative, multidisciplinary care model with strong hospital support Requirements: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program Board Certified (e.g., ANCC, AANP, NCCPA) Active or eligible for Texas licensure Minimum 1–2 years of experience in trauma, acute care surgery, emergency medicine, critical care, or a related high-acuity setting preferred ATLS certification (or willingness to obtain) required Compensation & Benefits: Competitive compensation Medical, dental, and vision insurance Retirement plan Paid time off CME allowance Malpractice coverage
