The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position.\n\nPerforms skilled operation in a majority of solid waste equipment including, but not limited to: bulldozers, compactors, front end loaders, material handlers, excavators, skid steers, farm tractors, mowers, shuttles, and road tractors with multiple types of trailers.\n\nResponsible for properly conducting pre-trip inspections and applicable maintenance on all solid waste equipment assigned and completing required paperwork.\n\nMay be utilized in the training of new employees.\n\nAdditional Duties:\nPerforms other related work as required.\n\nIn the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.\nMinimum Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma/GED and three (3) years’ experience required.\n\nA comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.\nAdditional Requirements\nAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.\n\nMust possess and maintain a valid Florida Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).\n\nAll employees must attend Seminole County required trainings. Department specific trainings per position may be required.\n\nPerformance Expectations\nAs a Solid Waste Operator II, it will be expected that you work in a safe and productive manner, assist the newer employees and make sure your peers are adhering to applicable policies and safety rules.\n\nEssential Function\nPerformance Expectation\n\nOperate a majority of the equipment within Solid Waste to Seminole County standards\n\nOperator must proficiently and safely operate a majority of the equipment within Solid Waste to Seminole County standards.\n\nPerform daily pre/post trip inspections and maintenance on equipment and vehicles, keep accurate documentation.\n\nPerform daily trip inspections and applicable maintenance.
