The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and demonstrate proficiency in its application to designs, blueprints, technical drawings, and the programming of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other precision inspection equipment. This role is central to ensuring that our products consistently meet stringent quality standards, safety regulations, and engineering specifications.Primary Duties And ResponsibilitiesInspection & TestingPerform comprehensive visual and physical inspections of incoming raw materials, in-process parts, and finished goods using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.Execute first article inspections, lot acceptance analyses, and inspection of production units during manufacturing cycles.CMM Operation & ProgrammingSet up, load, and execute existing inspection programs in CMM Manager, Verisurf, and Zone 3 inspection software on various machines.Develop, modify, and refine CMM programs to enhance inspection efficiency and ensure the highest levels of accuracy.Document Control & ReportingCompile detailed inspection reports, maintain logs, and input data into quality tracking systems.Ensure accurate documentation of results and provide traceability for defect tracking and quality metrics.Defect Analysis & Corrective ActionIdentify, document, and isolate non-conforming materials or products.Conduct defect root cause analyses and collaborate with engineering and production teams to drive corrective and preventive actions.Instrument Calibration & MaintenanceMaintain, calibrate, and verify accuracy of measuring instruments and inspection equipment to meet industry and company standards.QualificationsEducation and ExperienceAA Degree in related discipline and two (2) years or more of related experience; Or, High School and four (4) years of related experience.Technical ExpertiseAdvanced knowledge of blueprint reading, technical drawings, and GD&T principles.Demonstrated expertise in measurement technologies and inspection systems, including CMM programming and operation.Software ProficiencySkilled in CMM Manager, Verisurf, and Zone 3 inspection software.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.Equipment SkillsProficiency with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMMs, comparators, and vision systems.Key CompetenciesOutstanding analytical and organizational skills with a high attention to detail.Strong written and verbal communication skills to ensure effective documentation and collaboration.Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify operational inefficiencies and recommend quality improvements.RequirementsExtensive experience in metrology, quality inspection, or a comparable technical role.Working knowledge of ISO and/or GMP industry standards and practices.Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Quality Improvement methodologies is preferred.Ability to work independently and cross-functionally within a team-oriented environment.Physical & Work EnvironmentThe Engineering Technician IV role is performed on-site in a manufacturing or production environment. Candidates should be comfortable standing for extended periods and must occasionally lift materials of light-to-moderate weight as needed.
