Join us!\n\nPURCHASING AGENT\nPrincipal Duties and Accountabilities:\nResponsible for supporting purchasing activities of Project Managers including bulk buy-out, materials for fabrication shops, sheet metal commodities, and locating and purchasing uncommon specialties.\nDevelop and maintain tracking database for vendor stock quantities, backorders, returns credits, and rebates.\nAssist Project Managers to establish, maintain, and issue blanket purchase orders.\nAssist Project Managers with issuing purchase orders, invoice approvals, commodities monitoring and alerts, material forecasting.\nProvide support to Estimating team by request bids.\nCoordinate material delivery arrangements and material returns.\nProvide pricing support for change orders via bid requests.\nPlace and track field orders.\nPrice and submit requisitions, buy out procurement.\nLocate, evaluate, and establish local and national vendor relationships – prepare monthly vendor scorecard.\nMaintain quarterly/yearly sales reports for factory rebates.\nManagement Responsibility:\nSupervisor – responsible for hiring, performance management and pay administration for subordinates. Supervised positions: Purchasing Assistant\n\nEducation:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalency required\nCoursework related to business administration preferred.\nExperience:\nMinimum of 5 years of material/equipment purchasing experience in the construction industry.\nPast Purchasing Agent experience preferred.\nPrior experience in role assisting with Project Management or field leadership preferred.\nKnowledge, skills, and abilities:\nAdvanced knowledge of procurement/vendor inspection techniques and requirements.\nThorough knowledge of mechanical construction industry operations practices, processes, and standards.\nExcellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills with internal and external customers.\nStrong problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict-management skills.\nTime-management and organizational skills.\nHigh level of financial acumen necessary.\nDetail-oriented and ability to analyze complex reports.\nProficiency with MS Office suite products required – includes Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.\nProficiency with MS Access database preferred.\nPhysical and/or travel demands:\nThere will be travel up to Jonhstown periodically.\nThis position is done in a typical office setting, mostly sitting at a desk. Frequent use of computer keyboard, monitor, and telephone. Some standing, bending, and lifting light files is required.\n\nBenefits and Compensation:\nThe range for this position has been established at $24.65 to $34.83 and is US Engineering’s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting. The compensation offered to the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.\n\nThis position will be posted until August 31, 2026.
