As a part of Marmon Holdings, Inc., a highly decentralized organization, we rely heavily on people with the aptitude, attitude, and entrepreneurial spirit to drive our success, and we're committed to attracting and retaining top talent.\n\nReporting to the Controller of Amarillo Gear, the Senior Accountant will maintain assigned General Ledger accounts with journal entries and account reconciliations in compliance with company reporting requirements, assist in the construction of budgets and forecasts, analyze financial data to assist management with the growth of the company, and meet all internal, external and corporate reporting.\n\nAccounting Position Duties\n\nPrepare journal entries, monthly reconciliations, and internal & external financial reporting.\n\nMaintain internal control over financial processes and reporting. Assure controls are understood and monitored, including regular risk assessments of controls.\n\nReview purchase price variances between standard costs and actual, research and report findings.\n\nAssist with various aspects of inventory management, including physical inventories, inventory pricing reviews, analysis, etc. Create cycle count reports and procedures.\n\nPrepare budget, forecast, estimate and projection processes, providing helpful insight into underlying revenue and cost drivers.\n\nPull customer credit reports, references and report to Controller with recommendations for terms.\n\nAdequately control receivables and collections.\n\nReview standard costs, routings, and bill of materials, and work to ensure and improve accuracy.\n\nMaintain fixed asset database and tracking of construction in process, and periodic fixed assets inventories.\n\nPrepare external, internal and corporate financial reporting, meeting all deadlines monthly, quarterly and annually.\n\nCreate purchase orders for inventory and supplies based on safety stock, current and forecasted demands.\n\nProcess order acknowledgements and work with vendors to satisfy company needs.\n\nPull weekly past due reports to vendors and update scheduled delivery dates and follow-up with vendors as needed.\n\nInventory control, maintenance and inventory management, including coordinating and oversight of physical inventories, inventory pricing reviews analysis, cycle counts, forecasting and quarterly reviews of inventory safety stock and demands.\n\nComplete vendor evaluations quarterly.\n\nProvide analysis and review of projects in conjunction with sales and engineering personnel.\n\nAbility to maintain and supervise accounting clerk, including leadership by example for the entire team.\n\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nJob Requirements\n\nBachelor’s in accounting\n\nCPA/CMA or MBA (or working towards CPA/CMA or MBA), will consider experience\n\nExperience in general ledger transactions and account reconciliations\n\nProficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products\n\nGood communication and organizational skills\n\nDetail oriented, analytical thinker, team player\n\nAbility to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines\n\nAbility to travel 25%\n\nAccounting experience of 5 years\n\nCost and/or manufacturing accounting experience preferred\n\nWe are an equal opportunity employer, and all applicants will be considered for employment without attention to their membership in any protected class.
