Supervises Electrical Designers with the help and collaboration of the Manager, Design and Design Engineers to ensure the timely completion of assigned projects.\n\nEssential Job Duties and Responsibilities:\n\nCoordinates, schedules, and manages the daily activities within the Product Development Electrical Design team responsible for developing and creating parametric models and assemblies using CAD for various types of HVAC equipment—including conceptual designs.\nSupervises Electrical Designers with the help and collaboration of the Manager, Design and Design Engineers to ensure the timely completion of assigned projects.\nProvides technical and team leadership through coaching and mentorship for the Electrical Design Team, and acts as liaison between the team and the Manager, Design.\nReviews schematics for designs and makes design recommendations.\nCollaborates with other designers and engineers to ensure that the electrical system designs integrate seamlessly with other systems.\nCollaborates with Engineers, management, and other creative departments to determine design solutions.\nProvides support to production team during prototypes and production launch to facilitate seamless releases and is trusted as a point person or go to for manufacturing issues.\nSeeks ways to implement new ideas and technologies.\nKeeps pace with the processing of orders in-house (SPAS).\nCollaborates with the Design Engineering team to develop design standards.\nConfers with engineering management to complete assigned projects.\nProvides complete bills of material by defining when, where, and why specific parts are used.\nSupports DFMEAs, PFMEAs, CFD, FEA, and Seismic evaluations and testing.\nUnderstands safety standards including but not limited to UL, CE, NEC, IBC, and NFPA\nMaintains and builds professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, or participating in professional societies.\n\nEducation and Experience Requirements:\n\nA bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical field and 5 years’ experience in the HVAC or similar industry; or two-year technical degree and 10 years’ experience.\nPrevious supervisory experience preferred.\n\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\n\nExhibits excellent leadership and communication skills.\nExcels in electrical and controls analysis of assemblies.\nPossesses previous supervisory experience.\nDemonstrates excellent interpersonal relationship skills.\nExhibits good decision making and analytical problem-solving abilities.\nDemonstrates strong multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills.\nWorks effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure, team environment.\n\nWork Environment:\n\nFrequent exposure to manufacturing facilities with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.\nAbility to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.\nWork is performed in a climate-controlled office setting.\nOccasional travel as required.\n\nDisclaimer:\n\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
