Your greatest work is ahead!\n\nAs a Distribution Engineer, you can expect to:\nPerform design engineering for Leidos electric utility customers; you may also be performing individual design tasks in addition to QC efforts within your group.\nDevelop work packages for OH, UG, URD, Make Ready, and Street Light projects, using customer GIS and Work Management systems\nWork with other engineers and design leads on broad client issues including schedule adherence and team quality control; manage scope, schedule, and budget of work assigned.\nReview engineering design packages with clients; Perform functional tasks, planning, and/or customer follow-up\nPerform scope analysis of work assigned and maintain schedule adherence to advocate client priorities\nInitiate continuous improvement to workflow processes that drive efficiency and high-quality standards in client design deliverables\nCoordinate conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements, assessing and developing large design packages for complex cable/conduit projects in dense urban environments, work permit development, easements, and ROW applications\nBe comfortable in both a field and office setting: the role may require some customer-site visits to collect field data that will assist in developing work packages\nBe available for customer-facing activities and/or meetings on an as-needed basis (Job related travel Will be reimbursed at IRS-approved rates)\n\nWhat Sets You Apart (Background Requirements):\n2+ years of prior relevant experience is required.\nBachelor of Science in Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial) from an ABET accredited institution; additional relevant experience/certifications may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree\nBackground in and demonstrated proficiency with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)\nSome Prior knowledge of structural analysis, guying calcs, cable pulling calcs, coordination of protective devices, and electric demand and fault currents calculations.\nAbility to provide your own reliable transportation, as some customer-related travel may be anticipated (Job-related travel Will be reimbursed at IRS-approved rates)\nAbility to demonstrate strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills\n\nYou Might Also Have Some previous experience with:\nProviding estimated costs, development of a BOM, calculating the CIAC.\nMicroStation -performing Electrical Distribution design.\nWork management software and job estimating software.\nCAD tools\n\nAt Leidos, we pride ourselves on being a trusted and technology-focused solutions provider.
