The ideal candidate will develop PLC and HMI code, specify and integrate control hardware, lead installation and commissioning activities, and collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and production teams to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operation of automated systems. This role will entail travel to various customer sites, but when not traveling, this role can be worked remotely!\n\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign and develop PLC and HMI programs for machine and process control using industry-standard platforms.\nSpecify, select, and integrate control hardware (PLCs, I/O, drives, sensors, HMIs) and communicate requirements to procurement and vendors.\nCreate and maintain control schematics, wiring diagrams, and documentation for installation and future maintenance.\nLead site installation, commissioning, and start-up activities, including troubleshooting and optimization.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, process, production) to define control requirements and ensure successful project delivery.\nDevelop test procedures, validation plans, and perform system-level testing to verify performance, safety interlocks, and compliance with standards.\nProvide technical support and training for production and maintenance personnel; create troubleshooting guides and maintenance procedures.\nApply continuous improvement principles to improve reliability, cycle times, and maintainability of control systems.\nEnsure compliance with safety standards, industry regulations, and company procedures during design, installation, and commissioning activities.\nQualifications\nBachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Automation, or related field (or equivalent experience).\n3+ years of experience in industrial controls, automation, or related roles; experience in manufacturing environments preferred.\nProven PLC programming experience (e.g., Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar) and developing HMI applications.\nHands-on experience with installation, wiring, commissioning, and troubleshooting of control systems and drives.\nFamiliarity with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, ProfiNet, OPC) and network architecture.\nStrong understanding of control theory, PID tuning, safety interlocks, and motion control concepts.\nAbility to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings and translate them into control strategies.\nExcellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills; ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.\nBenefits\nSalary: $100k-140k/year\nGroup Health Insurance\n401(k) with Company Match\nWork from home when not at customer sites\nCareer training opportunities\nCompany covered travel expenses\nFor this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
