Critical Systems Technician III, HVAC
Position Overview We are seeking experienced Commercial HVAC Technicians (Level II & III) to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of mission-critical mechanical systems within data center environments. This role focuses on maintaining high-performance HVAC infrastructure where system reliability and uptime are essential. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on commercial HVAC systems Service and maintain: Air and water-cooled chillers Cooling towers Boilers and hydronic systems Air handling units (AHUs) and fan coil units (FCUs) Pumps, valves, and associated mechanical systems Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools Support building automation systems (DDC/BAS) and VFD controls Respond to routine and emergency service requests Maintain accurate documentation of work performed Qualifications Technician II Minimum 3+ years of commercial HVAC experience Working knowledge of refrigeration systems and electrical troubleshooting Experience with large commercial equipment (chillers, boilers, AHUs preferred) Technician III Minimum 7+ years of commercial HVAC experience Strong experience with chillers, cooling towers, and central plant systems Ability to perform advanced diagnostics and repairs independently Experience with DDC/BAS and VFD systems Required EPA Universal Certification Strong understanding of HVAC electrical and mechanical systems Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics Valid driver’s license U.S. citizenship (ability to obtain clearance preferred) Compensation Technician II: $40–$50/hr (based on experience) Technician III: $45–$60/hr (based on experience) Overtime available Full benefits package Schedule Multiple shifts available (day, evening, overnight) 8–12 hour shifts depending on assignment Rotating on-call for advanced technicians Preferred Backgrounds Data centers Hospitals or critical care facilities Industrial or plant environments Central plant / large mechanical systems Military Veterans Encouraged to Apply Relevant experience includes: Army: 91C, 91D Air Force: 3E1X1 (HVAC/R) Navy: MM, EN Why Join Work in a mission-critical environment supporting essential infrastructure Exposure to advanced HVAC systems and controls Long-term stability in a high-demand industry Career growth within data center and critical facilities operations
