About the Role:
As a Contact Center Gunsmith Support Tech at our Montezuma, IA location, you'll be the voice of Brownells, providing expert guidance and support to our valued customers. Working onsite from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, you'll be at the forefront of the firearms industry, shaping the future of Brownells. With a wage range that starts at $20/hour, this role offers a rewarding compensation package and a platform to apply your gunsmithing expertise in a dynamic environment.
What You'll Do:
Directly support customers via phone, chat, and email, ensuring high levels of satisfaction with first contact resolution.
Offer expert advice on gunsmithing techniques, firearm maintenance, and product selection to enhance the customer's experience.
Build lasting relationships with frequent customers, fostering loyalty and advocacy.
Assist with purchasing decisions, including ammo and reloading equipment, offering expertise on product selection and usage.
Collaborate with our Customer Service and Technical Teams to solve complex customer issues.
Technical Knowledge Requirements:
Candidates for this position must possess a blend of customer service acumen and technical gunsmithing skills, including but not limited to:
Customer Service Proficiency: Ability to manage account creation, order placement, and provide exceptional service through calls, chats, and emails.
Firearms Expertise: Solid understanding of rifle, pistol, and shotgun operational systems, including their function, common parts, and the cycle of operation for troubleshooting purposes.
Refinishing Skills: Knowledge of metal preparation, cold bluing, and painted finishes, with a preference for candidates familiar with bluing and Parkerizing processes.
Shop Tool Use: Competence in using general shop tools such as calipers, files, pin punches, headspace gauges, with conceptual knowledge of lathe and mill operations.
Reloading Knowledge: Basic understanding of the three-stage loading process for ammunition and common reloading practices.
Optics and Sights: Foundational knowledge of optic and iron sights, including recommendations based on usage needs, measuring for sight cuts, and calculating sight heights.
Firearm Models Familiarity: Familiarity with common firearms models across various brands (e.g., Glock, SIG, Smith & Wesson, Ruger, Colt, Remington, Browning, Winchester, Mossberg, Beretta, Benelli) to assist customers effectively.
