The Security & Gate House Operator is to ensure the safety of employees, equipment and property by keeping accurate logs of any visitor, employees and contractor arrival and departure times. This role continuously supports Sofidel’s Employee Personal Practice Policy.Essential FunctionsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Take live weights of inbound and outbound loadsUnderstand data flow through the supply chain and database systemsOperate the scale system, taking ownership of key reports, communicating with transportation drivers and managementMaintain accuracy of data in the scale program, which includes transportation, processing, billing and reportsMonitors and records all ingress and egress of the location to include all vehicles and pedestrians; issues guest badge using site access systemSecure the facility by notifying appropriate authorities if intruder is on propertyFirst point of contact for all emergency situations on the propertyMonitor call off line and notify department lead promptlyControl all lanes of traffic with the automatic gate armsObserve and report unsafe driversMonitor alarm panels, fire pump, camera security systemsProvide written reports, fire, ambulance, disgruntled employees, suspicious activity 24 hours a day.Maintain accurate overall record keeping for reporting and analysisProvide and maintain excellent customer service and efficient communicationUse of telephone and/or radio communications with worksite operators and/or office personnelMaintain good housekeeping to avoid debris on or around scales for accurate reportingComply with all company policies/procedures and state regulations for factual reportingFoster a safe work environmentOTHER DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:Supports Sofidel America’s Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP to promote a safe, sanitary and hygienically sound workplace.Perform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.Perform other related duties as assignedPlease be advised that there has been increased activity of identity theft and internet scams by means of fake employment offers.
