Position OverviewBeitzel Corporation is seeking experienced Advanced Heavy Equipment Operators to support two exciting large-scale civil excavation projects in the Harrisburg, PA and York, PA area. These are fixed-term, project-based opportunities ideal for skilled operators looking to put their expertise to work on a defined, high-impact project from start to finish. In this role, you'll support the Civil Services Group by operating heavy equipment and assisting with hands-on civil work such as erosion control and stormwater installation, demolition and land clearing, site development, mass and fine grading, road construction, utility installation, and site restoration activities including seeding and mulching.This position is designed for operators with expert-level knowledge of civil construction and excavation who take pride in quality work, safety, and productivity. Projects support a wide range of industries—including construction, manufacturing, power generation, aggregates, oil and gas, and renewable energy—and offer the opportunity to be part of a focused team delivering results on a critical schedule. Candidates must be familiar with Beitzel Corporation's services, comfortable with a flexible schedule, and willing to travel or work extended hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight assignments as project needs require. If you're an experienced operator looking for a well-defined project, steady work through the summer, and the chance to contribute to a major civil effort, this is an excellent opportunity to join Beitzel Corporation.What You'll DoSafely and efficiently operate industry specific heavy equipment such as dozers and excavators to meet project specifications, achieve planned grades, etc.Effectively achieve fine grade with and without GPS technologyCoordinate with project management to load the correct grade control files into pieces of equipment when requiredRead and interpret blueprints and customer specificationsLead and aid other field personnel with general labor and the operation of general excavation equipment to include haul trucks, skid steers, compactors, etc.Lead and perform daily equipment inspections and assist with general equipment maintenance and minor repairs as requiredProvide daily documentation to include job safety analysis, quality inspections, production reports, worksite status updates, fuel logs, equipment inspections, etc.Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in a professional and workman-like mannerLead and assist with site staging to include unloading trucks and equipment when requiredWorking ConditionsSit, talk, hear, read, and writePerform repetitive tasks in an environment that includes excessive noise, vibrations, dust, and other environmental factorsRegularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and armsMust be able to kneel, stoop, twist, bend, squat, and climbThe employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 poundsMust be able to work at heights or in confined spacesWorks indoors and outdoors in all types of weatherPerform duties on-site to include walking for extended periods of time on uneven terrainWhat You'll Bring5+ years of civil or excavation experience preferredMastery level experience in both a dozer and excavator requiredAbility to safely and effectively operate a wide variety of excavation equipmentAbility to configure and utilize GPS technology in excavation equipment and ability to achieve fine grade with or without GPS technologyExperience with general equipment maintenance and machine careDemonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environmentAbility to read blueprints and drawingsHow We'll Support YouPerks/BenefitsWE ARE NOW EMPLOYEE OWNED Employees are beneficial owners through an ESOP (Employee Stock Option Plan) that works through a qualified retirement plan.
