With that in mind, we encourage all qualified applicants to apply.\r\nJob Description\r\nThe Software Development Engineer 2 (Oracle HCM) is an intermediate-level, professional role responsible for developing and maintaining software source code to support a solution under the supervision of an assigned technical lead. This position also analyzes, de-bugs, tests, modifies and documents technologies and applications. As a member of a development team, the individual will receive specific work direction, most often from more senior software developers or assigned technical lead. The individual will be expected to solve moderately complex technical issues and complete programming tasks with limited supervision. This is an individual contributor role.\r\nThis individual works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel.\r\nWe value early, mid and late-career candidates and encourage all applicants with the posted skills and abilities to apply.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nParticipate in the analysis of functional requirements\r\nParticipate in the mapping of functional requirements to technical designs\r\nDevelop source code and unit tests according to technical designs\r\nParticipate in code reviews\r\nContribute to technical documentation\r\nParticipate in the Incident Management process and fix defects on a 24/7 basis\r\nComply with policies, standards, and regulatory requirements and ensure all others are doing the same\r\nQualifications\r\nBachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience\r\nTwo years of relevant professional experience\r\nOracle HCM Payroll Technical experience\r\nStrong understanding of Agile Software Development methodologies and principles\r\nClear and accurate written communication skills and great attention to detail\r\nIntermediate skills in engineering/programming, analytical/diagnostic/troubleshooting, web technology, and programming methodology\r\nConceptual understanding of systems and subsystems\r\nFamiliarity with Cloud Based Platforms and services\r\nPractical understanding of DevSecOps\r\nFamiliarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery principles\r\nBasic knowledge of applicable software, computer languages, and code to perform the responsibilities of the role\r\nDemonstrated aptitude and willingness to learn new technologies and programming languages\r\nThis job operates in a professional environment\r\nTo successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using computer monitors/equipment\r\nPreferred\r\nProfessional experience with large-scale systems including strong experience in the tools, methodologies, and technologies the role supports\r\nStrong understanding of computer systems; experience in the tools, methodologies, and technologies the role supports\r\nUnderstanding of Oracle Financials Cloud modules such as Payroll, General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Procurement.\r\nExperience work with systems that support with global payroll solutions.\r\nFamiliarity with Oracle's reporting tools like: Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI), Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI), Oracle Smart View for Office, Financial Reporting Studio (FRS), and BI Publisher\r\nProficiency in SQL and PL/SQL for extracting, transforming, and analyzing data.\r\nExpertise in creating complex database queries to support financial reports.\r\nAbout Us\r\nChurch employees find joy and satisfaction in using their unique talents and abilities to further the Lord's work.
