Depending on business needs, this role may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned:\n\nIdentify and pursue research that advances the understanding of QEC theory, techniques, and implementation in experimental quantum computing devices\nDevelop and optimize QEC protocols tailored to experimental gate-based quantum computing devices, with a primary focus on neutral atom platforms\nUse mathematical models and numerical simulations to analyze the behavior and performance of QEC protocols\nDevelop and implement custom QEC decoders\nContribute to the identification and mitigation of noise processes in quantum systems\nCollaborate with experimental physicists and software engineers to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and practical implementation\nCommunicate and interpret cutting-edge research in both theory and experiment with colleagues\nEngage with the broader scientific community by publishing research findings in scientific journals and presenting at conferences\nStay up to date with the latest developments in QEC and related field\nProvide guidance and support to other team members, fostering a collaborative research environment\n\nRequirements\n\nPhD in theoretical physics, mathematics, computer science, or another field closely related to quantum information science\n2+ years of postdoctoral experience (or industry equivalent) in QEC is highly preferred\nExperience in tailoring error-correcting codes for quantum computing devices, and bridging the gap between theory and experiment\nStrong scientific publication record\nProficient in scientific computing\nDemonstrated ability to work and communicate with all levels of an organization; professional-level communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills\nDemonstrated ability to work comfortably in a highly collaborative, cross-functional, team-oriented, and matrixed environment\nDesire and demonstrated ability to thrive and produce results in a fluid, dynamic, and fast-paced environment\nDemonstrated ability to learn new and complex topics quickly\nResourceful problem-solver who collaboratively identifies effective paths forward with demonstrated expertise in executing productization efforts\nPassion for solving complex problems and challenges in a highly technical and scientific environment\nAbility to travel domestically and (potentially) internationally up to 10%\n\nBenefits\n\nSalary range: $145,000 to $170,000 per year\n100% company-paid medical, dental, vision, short/long-term disability\nEmployer-funded Health Savings Account\nUnlimited PTO\n401(k) match\nCompany-paid Life and AD&D Insurance\nFlexible Savings Account\nPaid FMLA, Maternity/Paternity Leave\nEmployee Assistance Program\nStudent Loan Repayment\nEquity Package\n\nEqual Opportunity\n\nHere you have freedom to embrace your whole self: who you love, your gender identity and expression, skin color, age, appearance, disability, neurodiversity, DNA, military/veteran status, citizenship, and other factors that make up who you are.
