The successful individual in this role participates in all aspects of the research and development process from concept to field deployment. FPGA Design Engineers are responsible for the efficient implementation of novel signal processing algorithms for Silvus' MIMO wireless networking products.\n\nIn addition, they participate in the support and development of FPGA-based designs for our advanced wireless systems R&D. These are exciting projects aimed at addressing challenging real-world communication needs.\n\nThis position is 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, at Silvus Technologies’ Engineering and R&D Office in Irvine, CA , near the vibrant Irvine Spectrum.\n\nROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nDigital design architecting for wireless communication projects.\n\nFixed point design of signal processing blocks while working with systems engineers.\n\nRTL coding, simulation, and test bench development.\n\nFPGA synthesis and timing closure.\n\nHardware verification and troubleshooting; familiarity with logic analyzers.\n\nProvide support to the RF and Software Engineering teams.\n\nPerform other related duties of which the above are representative.\n\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\n\nBachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields plus a minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in FPGA design; OR an advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields\n\nProven expertise working with multiple clock-domain, high-utilization FPGA designs.\n\nExperience with Xilinx FPGAs, SoCs, and the Vivado IDE.\n\nExperience with TCL or Python.\n\nMust be U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.\n\nAll employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.\n\nPREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES\n\nMaster of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE).\n\nDemonstrated experience with fixed point binary arithmetic, and digital signal processing designs.\n\nExperience using MATLAB.\n\nExperience with communication systems on FPGA or ASIC designs.\n\nWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\n\nOffice environment.\n\nOccasional exposure to heat, cold, and allergens while performing tests or demonstrations in the field.\n\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following:\n\nLift equipment up to 20 lbs. for the set-up of demonstrations and testing.\n\nPerform bending and reaching movements to place items on lower and higher shelves.\n\nKneeling or squatting to access lower shelves.\n\nWalking/Moving in the labs.\n\nCOMPENSATION\nConsistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity.
