The ideal candidate for this role will not only make significant individual contributions to mobile application development but will also play a key role in shaping the technical direction of software engineering practices at goTenna. This includes providing expert guidance on development methodologies, project estimation, and implementation strategies. Additionally, you will manage a small team of engineers in a hands-on capacity, balancing software engineering duties with leadership responsibilities. You will collaborate closely with the Director of Mobile Software to prioritize and delegate tasks for both yourself and your team.\n\nIn addition to collaboration with mobile developers, you’ll also be part of a team of engineers working on web development, firmware, wireless networking protocols, hardware, QA, and more. You’ll also work closely with UI/UX and product management to ensure high-quality production and deployment of fully integrated applications that serve as the interface for goTenna’s next-generation communication systems.\n\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nLead the Flutter Software Team and deliver results by coaching, developing, and managing employees.\nBe a highly effective technical leader-by-example, mentoring the Flutter development team and bringing your expertise to guide the design, development, and maintenance of goTenna mobile applications.\nReview new product requirements for goTenna mobile apps, then design and implement the data model, control, and customer-facing aspects for those features.\nEnsure the highest quality and performance of goTenna’s mobile software by leading the Flutter Software Team in writing world-class code.\nCollaborate with firmware, hardware, QA, and product management teams to define, implement, and ship new features.\nEnsure highest quality and performance of goTenna’s mobile apps.\nDesign and develop SDKs for internal and third-party developers.\nProviding engineering support for customer issues and general problem-solving.\nGiving support to product managers to answer technical customer questions.\nRelease mobile apps and monitor performance in the Play Store & App Store using Cocoapods, Firebase, Gradle/Maven, Git, and Android studio developer tools.\n\nRequired Experience:\n8+ years mobile software engineering experience.\n2+ years' experience managing mobile software engineers.\nBachelor’s degree in computer science.\nExperience with MVVM and similar Mobile Architecture.\nExperience with Flutter development.\nExperience developing multithreading apps, performance tuning, and debugging\nExperience working closely with UI/UX designers to implement intuitive interfaces\nExperience with developer tools like Firebase, Maven, Gradle, Git and Android Studio.\nExperience mentoring and supporting peers and fostering best engineering practices.\nFamiliarity with Jira and Agile/Lean development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).\nProven track record of taking initiative to proactively resolve technical issues.\nKnowledge of Design patterns.\nExperience with Riverpod.\nExperience with UML diagrams.\nExperience with Dart Futures.\n\nPreferred Experience:\nAdditional development experience with other platforms and languages such as iOS development in Swift\nExperience writing Bluetooth apps & familiarity with Bluetooth SDKs.\nExperience using mapping frameworks (e.g., MapBox, Google Maps, Esri), RESTful APIs, and connection to backend servers.\nExperience with security protocols, Android Encryption, CryptoKit, or similar.\nExperience with hardware integration and/or connected devices.\nExperience working on government-focused projects.\nExperience using Map frameworks (MapBox, Google Maps, etc.)\nExperience with C/C++.\nExperience with Kotlin.\n\nITAR: U.S. Citizen or Green Card Required\n\nCLEARANCE ELIGIBILITY - This position may require eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
