Description Duties Description Roles & Responsibilities Customer Engagement: Welcome visitors, assist with check-ins, and guide individuals to the appropriate staff or department based on their needs. Front-Line Support: Answer phones, help route inquiries, and provide timely responses to common customer requests. Resource Room Assistance: Support customers with resumes, job applications, and navigation of workforce tools (e.g., VCC, InterviewStream, Coursera, Northstar). Digital Literacy Coaching: Provide basic computer and technology assistance, including email setup, online applications, and job search platforms. Workshop & Event Support: Assist with scheduling, sign-ups, marketing, and facilitation of in-person and virtual workshops, job fairs, and recruitments. Project Work: Contribute to initiatives such as developing SharePoint/Microsoft FormsMinimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Be 18 years of age or older Be actively enrolled in a New York State college, university, or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State, attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State* Have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year's worth of academic credits over a longer period may qualify part-time students for participation in the program), or be a currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, or the letter grade equivalentPreferred Skill SetsCustomer Service ExperienceDegree Concentrations RequestedBusiness AdministrationCommunications StudiesEducation StudiesHuman Resources Liberal Arts Public Administration Social ScienceAdditional CommentsPreferred minimum education level: SophomorePreferred maximum education level: Graduate StudentOur mission is to provide outstanding services to our customers—the workers and business that call New York home.
