This is an excellent opportunity for an entry- to mid-level geologist who is interested in building hands-on experience in an active open-pit gold mining environment.\n\nThe Mine Geologist provides day-to-day geological support to mining operations, working closely with Mine Operations, Engineering, Exploration, Process, Safety, and Survey. The position is involved in grade control, pit and blasthole mapping, ore routing, reconciliation, geological modeling, and near-mine exploration activities.\n\nWhat You’ll do:\n\nPerform pit and blast pattern mapping and interpret geological contacts, structures, alteration, and material types\nAnalyze blasthole assay and geological data to help define ore and waste boundaries, optimize grade, and minimize dilution\nSupport grade control, ore routing, blending, and appropriate leach pad placement\nOversee blasthole sampling and assist with established QA/QC and data-quality practices\nMonitor and document geological conditions within active mining areas\nProvide geological information to support short- and long-term mine planning\nAssist with month-end geological and reconciliation reporting\nMaintain digital geological and pit mapping data and support development of 3D geological models\nWork with Exploration to identify and evaluate potential near-mine drilling targets\nSupport RC drilling programs, including drill supervision and chip logging, as needed\nCollaborate with Survey and other site teams to support daily mining activities\n\nWhat We’re Looking For:\n\nBachelor's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related earth science field\nPrevious open-pit mining, mine geology, or exploration experience is preferred but not required for a strong entry-level candidate\nExposure to 3D geological or mine planning software is preferred; experience with MineSight, Vulcan, Datamine, Micromine, or similar programs is beneficial\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data quality\nAbility to interpret geological and assay data and communicate findings effectively\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to work independently with appropriate direction while contributing effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team\nWillingness to learn, take on increasing responsibility, and work in both office and field environments\nStrong commitment to safe work practices and mine-site procedures\nValid driver's license with an acceptable driving record\n\nWhat We Offer\n\nSafety-focused work environment\nCompetitive compensation\nOpportunity to grow within a developing Nevada gold operation\nTeam-oriented culture built on accountability and operational excellence\n\nWork Environment\n\nThis position combines office and field work in an active open-pit mining environment.
