Benefits include:Paid Time OffVacationMedical, Dental and Vision ins.Retirement PlanPesticide License: $2.00 increase, CDL-A: $1.00 increase(40 hours per week) 6am - 2:30pmDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.Performs a variety of mechanical maintenance and repair tasks on grounds equipment such as: replacing, rebuilding or overhauling engines, performing general preventive maintenance and tune-ups on engines, tractors, mowers, power saws, snow blowers, etc., repairing and/or rebuilding pumps, trailers, plows, salt spreaders, weed whip, etc.Examines equipment needing repair to determine parts necessary.Performs general grounds maintenance at assigned buildings, mows lawns, trims and prunes bushes and trees, apply fertilizer and removal of leaves. Patching of cement, blacktop areas.Removes snow and ice from roadways, parking lots and assigned walkways during the winter season.Assists in tree removal and trimming on school grounds, as needed.Maintains tools, equipment and work area in a clean, safe and orderly condition.Maintains various activity and inventory records and program related reports as directed.Spraying for lawn disease and insects control providing employee has proper pesticide license and endorsements.May serve as additional custodial help such as day custodian or head custodian when needed and as assigned.Maintain seasonal grounds work (snow, lawn) within assigned boundaries of Head Custodian and perform minor maintenance and repair to equipment, as assigned.Must be able to drive -HI-Low, Tractor and Front Loader.Prepares and maintains athletic fields such as mowing, prepping, stripping, chalking, repairing fence lines, adding ballfield mixes, dragging, aerating, weeding etc. Maintains dugouts, bleachers, tennis courts and other athletic areas as directed.Checks playgrounds and makes minor repairs of equipment. Advises supervisor of playground repairs and needs. Checks and repairs PIP playgrounds surfacing. Empties trash cans in the playground area.Other duties as assigned.CDL-A endorsement and Pesticide license must be obtained within 90 days of employment.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
