Throughout the Company’s growth in Virginia and into North Carolina, it has strived to maintain a family culture in a corporate world.General DescriptionUnder general supervision of a superintendent, the Laborer performs a variety of manual or semiskilled tasks related to road building and maintenance of road building equipment and facilities.ResponsibilitesMaintain constant awareness of ongoing operations in your surrounding area while safely and efficiently completing required physical tasksTasks may include, but are not limited to jack hammering, shoveling, cleaning, traffic control or assisting with any other milling operation related taskMust be able to follow instructions and have a good work ethicHave the ability and willingness to learn new thingsPhysical RequirementsThe ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objectsThe ability to lift and carry heavy loads OF 40 - 50 POUNDS OR MORE ON on a daily basisThe ability to understand and carry out verbal and or written directions paying attention to detailThe ability to stand for long periods of time. (10-12 hours)QualificationsHigh School diploma/GED. Prior construction or paving experience preferred but not required. Possesses a strong work ethic, teamwork and respect to all individuals. Must possess a valid driver’s license, have an acceptable driving record, and have reliable transportationCandidates must be able to work overtime, nights, and weekends, as projects demand.
