General Production Worker - Off Shift - 20/hrJoin our team as a General Production Worker with the opportunity to advance to a Slitter Operator role in the future. While training will be provided, having basic machine operation knowledge will greatly enhance your success. You will work collaboratively in a team of 3 to 4 members, assisting additional packers when necessary. Your role will involve loading and unloading machinery, quality checking steel during and after processing, using measurement tools, and managing shipping and receiving of materials within the facility.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate in a team of 3-4 members and assist packers as needed.Load and unload machinery efficiently.Conduct quality checks on steel during and after processing.Utilize measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.Handle shipping and receiving of materials within the facility.Move materials around the facility safely.Maintain a safe working environment.Essential SkillsExperience in manufacturing with presses, steel, and large machinery.Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.Proficient in reading a tape measure to 1/16 inch.Skilled in using hand and power tools.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with overhead cranes.Previous slitter operator experience.Forklift operation skills.Steel industry experience.Enjoy working in a clean, well-lit environment with state-of-the-art machinery. Our company is 90% US-based manufacturing, unaffected by tariffs.Work EnvironmentOur facility operates with a workforce of 40-50 people in a clean steel environment. The facility is well-lit and equipped with newer machinery. We offer three shifts: 2nd Shift (Monday-Friday, 2 PM – 10 PM), 3rd Shift (Sunday-Thursday, 10 PM – 6 AM), and additional shift times of 6-2, 2-10, 10-6. Employees work 40 hours a week with voluntary overtime unless mandated for vacation coverage. Required PPE includes hard hats, safety glasses, arm sleeves, hearing protection in certain areas, high visibility vests, and steel toe shoes. Uniforms are provided by the company.This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Butler, IN.The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
