(GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.\n\nWe have an exciting opportunity for an Project Engineer for our USMC Software Program located in Poway, CA. This position will focus on supporting software development, system test, and the fielding of new capabilities for the platform. Applicant must be able to effectively communicate with all functional engineering departments, all program management specialties, external customers, sub-contractors, and vendors. Successful applicants will have experience in one or more of the following areas, software design, test/flight testing, unmanned systems, technical manuals, and training systems.\n\nDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nSupports operation of engineering systems by evaluating and interpreting needs and problems and develops effective approaches to resolving those issues.\nTroubleshoots, analyzes, and repairs systems in assigned area by utilizing standard engineering and scientific principles.\nDirects the activities of designers, technicians and may direct the activities of less experienced professional staff.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nDevises new approaches to resolve unusual or complex engineering problems.\nTroubleshoot conflicting design/development requirements, difficult coordination requirements, and special material requirements.\nProvides documentation and makes technical presentations as required.\nMay represent the organization as the prime technical contact on small contracts or single component projects.\nProvides direction to design or technical staff and may lead a team of moderately experienced professional staff.\nMaintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.\nSupports the development of project plans, including Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), Bills of Material (BOM) and Basis of Estimation (BOE) for labor hours and deliverables to be included in a proposal response.\nLeads integration and flight test activities for a range of advanced capabilities into unmanned aircraft and related systems.\nFull lifecycle program execution from concept through airworthiness testing, certification, and fielding.\nResponsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.\nExpected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.\n\nWe recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.\n\nHighlights Working For GA-ASI:\nThis position is eligible for the Individual Compensation Program (ICP) bonus.\nThis position is eligible for a hybrid work environment pending project needs.\nOutstanding benefits including: 401(k) (with company match), company pension, on site cafeterias, gyms and outdoor recreation centers, Employee Recreation Association (ERA) which gives unlimited access to events and amusement parks such as San Diego Zoo and Safari Park at discounted rates.\nOutstanding work environment: team-centric, value and respect all contributors, great growth potential within GA-ASI project engineering and GA-ASI as a whole.\nFree Electric Vehicle (EV) charging while at work.\nJob Qualifications\nTypically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; six or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, four or more years of experience with a masters degree, or two or more years with a PhD.
