This role plays an important part in supporting our customers, strengthening our business, and contributing to the long-term growth of Douglas Dynamics.\r\nThe Assembler/Packer will perform a variety of bench and structural assembly, boxing and bagging operations of parts, components, and assemblies for the company's snowplow and Ice Control products lines and accessories. Assembly may be performed on a paced conveyor or non-paced environment. Sets up and operates machinery and equipment such as assembly and packaging, unloading parts from a powered conveyor, bagging machines, strapper, and assorted power and hand tools. Actively participates in team and total quality commitment activities. Performs designated maintenance functions; assumes ownership for quality of all products. Participates in training and 5-S activities.\r\nIn this role, you will leverage your skills, experience, and perspective to make a meaningful impact. You'll collaborate with teammates across the organization, contribute ideas, and help deliver results that matter for our customers and our business.\r\nFollow job instructions (JIs), standards, regulations, procedures, and quality checks to ensure compliance, product quality, and scrap reduction\r\nPerform bench and structural assembly, boxing, and bagging operations for snowplow and ice control products and accessories\r\nAssemble products in paced conveyor and non-paced environments\r\nSet up and operate machinery and equipment including assembly and packaging machines, powered conveyors, bagging machines, strappers, and assorted power/hand tools\r\nUnload, move, and handle parts/components using conveyors and material handling equipment\r\nMaintain safe working conditions and support 5S workplace organization practices\r\nMeet production plans and standards (produce to takt) while controlling costs\r\nPerform preventative maintenance\r\nReport assembly, packaging, equipment or unusual workplace issues to the BU lead or supervisor\r\nParticipate in training, continuous improvement, and team-based problem solving\r\nWork collaboratively and contribute to a team-oriented environment\r\nPerform other duties as assigned\r\nKnowledge of basic lean concepts.\r\nPrior background in a manufacturing setting.\r\nProduct knowledge.\r\nOrganizational and research skills\r\nAbility to report daily production\r\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\r\nMust be able to perform basic math\r\nAbility to focus on multiple priorities and work a flexible schedule as needed\r\nAble to stand and walk\r\nAble to reach above shoulders and outward\r\nAble to bend, squat and crawl\r\nAble to work in both hold and cold temperatures\r\nAble to lift and carry up to 50 pounds\r\nStarting pay at $18.00 per hour\r\nA fulfilling career with the opportunity to contribute to an industry leader\r\nCompetitive salary commensurate with experience\r\nA comprehensive benefits package\r\nGenerous 401(k) match\r\nProfit sharing for all full-time employees\r\nOngoing learning and development opportunities, including access to Douglas Dynamics University (DDU)\r\nAt Douglas Dynamics, we don't just talk about improvementwe live it.
