Director of DevelopmentPosition SummaryThe Director of Development is a professional staff member of Isabel's House. Reporting to and in partnership with the Executive Director, the Development Director will spearhead development efforts as Isabel's House continues to grow. This position is exempt and supervises the Fund Development Staff.Essential DutiesFund DevelopmentDevelop and execute Isabel's House's annual fundraising plan in collaboration with the Executive DirectorDirect and implement an effective grant management program, including research, grant writing, and follow-up reportsAdminister donor database, ensuring accuracy and full utilization of the programDevelop, execute, and monitor fund development plans and strategies to enhance cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors while meeting organizational budget goalsPlan for and manage third-party fundraising program, tax credit program, and monthly giving programSecure financial support from individuals, foundations, and corporationsManage the implementation of donor CRM and oversee staff responsible for data entry and gift processingCreate and execute a strategy for a large, sustained base of annual individual donorsOversight of the organization of special eventsOversight of development and tracking proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraisingAdheres to professional fundraising ethics of the Association of Fundraising ProfessionalsBuild strong relationships with staff, community volunteers, media contacts, and community leaders to increase awareness and ensure strong advocacy and fundraising success.Marketing & CommunicationsDevelops and implements the organization's communications and marketing plan, including, but not limited to, the annual report, marketing materials, direct mail campaigns, newsletter publications, email, website, and social media campaignsProvide brand management for programs, development, and outreach communicationsAdheres to professional fundraising ethics of the Association of Fundraising ProfessionalsVolunteer ProgramDevelops and executes Isabel's House's annual volunteer program plan in collaboration with the Executive Director, Program Team, and Volunteer Committee.Manages the recruitment, screening, and onboarding of volunteersDevelops training programs for all volunteersCollaborates with staff and committee to implement volunteer recognition programOversees volunteer program evaluation, making recommendations for improvements to the program, seeking best practicesOther DutiesPeriodically participate in or lead activities with children at Isabel's HouseAdministrative duties, as neededOther duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing, or equivalent is preferred2+ years of experience in nonprofit, fund development, and/or marketing is preferredAbility to work independently, time and resource management skillsDemonstrated excellence in organizational, marketing, leadership, initiative, and interpersonal skillsValid Class E driver's license and good driving record. Must have satisfactory results for required background screenings and examsKnowledge of CRM database systems requiredDemonstrated graphic design software skills are preferredDemonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skillsWorking ConditionsRequired in-state travelWork on a computer for long periods of timeSit or stand for long periods of timeMay be required to lift children weighing up to 40 poundsIn ratio to care for children, as neededHealth risks due to contact with children staying at Isabel's HouseAbility to work a flexible schedule, regularly including evening and weekend meetings/events
