We are currently looking for a Full Time Teacher to join our Early Childhood Center Tishomingo team located at the Tishomingo Head Start working .Summary:Responsible for professional education work in instructing pre-school children in academic and developmental areas and related work as required.Responsibilities:* Provides first class customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to inquiries, compliments and/or complaints with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency- Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner- Greets and engages with a smile- Determines needs, seeks positive experience and outcomes* Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities* Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types- Maintains general upkeep of work area and maintains a safe environment- Maintains and promotes professionalism- Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics- Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards* Maintains knowledge of and follows all rules, regulations, policies and guidelines for assigned area* Provides environment and time to engage with child both emotionally and physically* Removes potential hazards and reports them to center supervisor* Learns and instructs students in basic Chickasaw language vocabulary* Monitors students health needs and contacting parents when needed* Immediately reports any potential health and well-being concerns of students required by law* Attends parent meetings and policy council meetings* Drives or monitors on school bus routes, field trips, and other events* Develop age appropriate classroom and lesson plans and assessments to ensure learning and development- Responsible for the effective utilization of teacher assistants and allowing breaks throughout the day- Responsible for creating interactive learning opportunities* Coordinates as needed with early intervention team to provide appropriate learning plans* Completes developmental observations screenings for all children enrolled in classroom* Work to recognize each child's individual goals in preparation for the transition to public school* Assist center supervisor and education manager in enrollment of students and transfer* Utilize the computer child tracking system* Schedule and arrange field trip activities, accompanying students and encouraging parents to participate* Performs all other duties as assignedCompetencies:Essential:* Able to follow instructions, both written and oral* Able to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements* Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability* Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines* Principles and practices of early childhood education and development* Understand Native American culture and tribal programs* Works well within a team* Organizational and time-management* Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management* Communicates clinical information to patient in emergent or urgent settings* Communicates clinical information to patient in non-emergent setting* Teach children various skills and knowledge* Uses voice in authoritative mannerSkills:Experience:Essential:* 3 years directly related experienceEducation:Essential:* Bachelors of Early ChildhoodCredentials:Essential:* Must be 21 years of age or older* Pass general background check* Class A Commercial Driver's License* Standard Driver's LicenseWorking Conditions:Essential:* Outside, all weather conditions* Interacts with young children* Frequently bend, kneel, stoop, push, reach* Hand-eye coordination, reach and grasp* Sometimes lift and or carry up to 50 lbs* Sitting up to 50% of shift* Standing up to 75% of shift* Walking up to 75% of shift* Home visits* Subject to traveling and working at other locations or in other environments* Travel is primarily in OklahomaTraining*It is the responsibility of each employee to attend required training for their position or profession as determined by their line of support (LOS) or the leadership of the Chickasaw Nation.
