Electrical Designer

Century West Engineering, a premier Northwest engineering consulting firm, is looking for an Electrical Designer to join our growing electrical engineering team. As an Electrical Designer, you will work on a variety of municipal and airport projects, including public and private projects involving water systems, wastewater systems, street improvements, and airfield lighting. Under the guidance of our Electrical Engineers, you will produce electrical engineering designs, including geometric layout, horizontal and vertical alignments, utility layout, preliminary plans, and calculations. This position will report to the Electrical Department Manager and may be located in our Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Spokane, Washington, or Sandpoint, Idaho offices.Benefits2 to 4 weeks of vacation depending on experience1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked8 paid holidays3 days paid bereavement leave, as needed401k retirement account matchHealth (PPO and HSA options), dental, and vision insurance fully covered for full-time employees and available for family and dependentsLife and disability insuranceEmployee assistance programBonus programProfessional training and development opportunitiesReimbursement for continuing educationFlexible scheduleDuties & ResponsibilitiesPerforms design functions with AutoCAD software.Plots, designs, and produces complete sets of working drawings for review and construction.Produces documents used for estimating bidding, construction, and marketing.Maintains records, designs, and other drawing-related documentation for projects.Reviews CAD drafting efforts with project engineers to ensure that drawings are correct. Makes any revisions necessary.Maintains company drafting standard details, templates, and models.Qualifications6+ years of AutoCAD or technician-related experience in electrical engineering preferred.Associate’s degree or equivalent specializing in drafting or CAD operation or the Engineering Technician field.Proficient with design functions and concepts in design software such as Microsoft Office365, AGI32, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, etc.Continuing education in new software packages.Classroom or on-the-job training in reading blueprints.Education in basic engineering project layout requirements and standards.An Equal Opportunity Employer – All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected status.
