In this role, you will play a critical role in maintaining financial integrity, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving operational excellence across our multi subsidiary organization. Your contribution will ensure the delivery of accurate, timely, and reliable financial information to internal teams and key stakeholders, while also serving as a backup to the Controller and supporting the overall integrity and efficiency of the accounting department.\r\nJoin us in making a meaningful impact!\r\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\r\nThis position will be responsible for the accounting functions of several of our smaller entities and backup for our main organization Zymo, in the areas defined below:\r\nAssist in managing the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.\r\nPrepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP (or IFRS, as applicable).\r\nEnsure timely and accurate preparation of account reconciliations and journal entries.\r\nAnalyze financial results and investigate significant variances.\r\nMaintain the general ledger and oversee accounting transactions.\r\nInternal Controls & Compliance\r\nSupport the development, implementation, and monitoring of internal controls.\r\nEnsure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.\r\nAssist with external audits, tax filings, and financial reviews.\r\nCoordinate responses to auditor requests and prepare supporting documentation.\r\nAssist with supervising and developing accounting staff.\r\nFoster a collaborative and high-performing accounting environment.\r\nAssist with performance evaluations, training, and professional development initiatives.\r\nCash Management & Treasury\r\nPrepare bank reconciliations and cash management activities.\r\nAssist in forecasting cash needs and working capital requirements.\r\nBudgeting & Analysis\r\nSupport annual budgeting and forecasting processes.\r\nPartner with department leaders to monitor spending and financial performance.\r\nProvide financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making.\r\nProcess Improvement\r\nIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.\r\nParticipate in ERP implementations, system upgrades, and automation initiatives.\r\nDevelop and document accounting policies and procedures.\r\nEducation and Experience\r\nBachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
