Apache Junction Police Department Volunteer Reserve OfficerPositions in this class assist police staff with a wide range of tasks that are crucial to the department's daily operations. This is a volunteer position and does not offer any compensation. Reserve Officers are integral to the operations of the Apache Junction Police Department, providing essential support to the Patrol division. These volunteer officers work alongside our full-time staff, improving efficiency and contributing to the department's overall mission.Essential DutiesReserve Officer Functions:Proactive patrolAssist with traffic control on police scenes and during eventsParticipate in police-related community eventsAssist in routine tasks around the departmentRequirements for this role include:Ability to lift 30-50 poundsMust be AZPOST certifiedMust complete FTO within the Apache Junction Police DepartmentAbility to communicate clearly through police radiosAbility to take direction and adhere to chain of command during field operationsReserves in this unit must:Possess a valid driver's licenseFollow oral and written instructions accuratelyPossess strong communication skills, both oral and writtenAttend required meetings and trainingsCommitment: A minimum of one year of service is required, with a commitment of at least 20 hours per month. Days of Work Week: Seven (7) Days a Week Hours: Hours Will VaryMinimum QualificationsMust be 21 or more years old. Current AZPOST certified or attending an Arizona law enforcement academy. Out-of-state certified officers will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
