Histotechnologist - Per Diem - Pathology Lab

DESCRIPTIONUnder the direction of the Supervisor, the Histotechnologist performs technical histology tasks and procedures, including tissue processing, tissue embedding, microtomy, staining, immunofluorescence, accessioning, equipment preventive maintenance, quality control, immunohistochemistry, inventory, supply ordering, data gathering/reports, slide and FFPE block filing/retrieval, and other histology-related duties. This posting shall remain open until filled. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMinimum two (2) years of experience as a histotechnologist within a pathology laboratory. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience with grossing, embedding and microtomy. Histotechnician or Histotechnology certification by A.S.C.P. SPECIAL CONDITIONSMust be able to work all shifts, weekends, overtime, and at various locations as necessary in accordance with operational needs. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and a pre-employment physical. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $101,393 - $101,393 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $48.56 - $48.56 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
