The code is available at github.com/ThePalaceProject.\n\nSummary Description:\n\nLyrasis is seeking a Full Stack Engineer who will be joining a diverse engineering team in the Ebooks and Community Engagement (EBCE) Department working on the Palace Project platform. You will closely collaborate with product, operations, and support teams to build solutions that provide our users and library partners with a great digital experience.\n\nAs part of a small team, you will be involved in all stages of the development process - from contributing code to backend services and frontend interfaces, to refactoring and architectural design, deploying and monitoring services, documenting your work, and troubleshooting issues.\n\nDuties/Responsibilities:\n\nDevelop and maintain backend services using Python (Flask, SQLAlchemy)\n\nBuild and enhance frontend interfaces using JavaScript (React, Next.js)\n\nContribute to technical architecture and design decisions\n\nDeploy, monitor, and maintain backend services in AWS\n\nTroubleshoot issues across the full application stack\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions\n\nRequired Skills and Qualifications:\n\n3+years of experience developing backend applications in Python\n\n2+years of experience with JavaScript development (React preferred)\n\nProven understanding of web service development best practices\n\nExperience refactoring and modernizing codebases\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nA passion for reading books or listening to audiobooks\n\nExperience with our stack: Flask, SQLAlchemy, Postgres, AWS, Terraform, Next.js.\n\nExperience deploying and managing your own code in production\n\nMobile development experience (iOS/Swift, Android/Kotlin) is a plus\n\nAdditional Skills:\n\nHighly organized and process-oriented\n\nCurious and persistent when troubleshooting issues\n\nEmpathetic and user-centric mindset\n\nComfortable juggling testing deadlines and support priorities\n\nCollaborative and communicative across technical and non-technical teams\n\nAble to operate autonomously while meeting objectives\n\nAdaptable and creative problem solving is a must\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\n\nNone\n\nPhysical Demands:\n\nThis position is fully remote and requires sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
