The Tax Manager will oversee preparation and review of federal, state and international tax returns, manage client relationships, mentor staff, and contribute to practice development while ensuring technical accuracy, timely delivery and compliance with current tax laws and accounting standards.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nLead and manage tax compliance and planning engagements for Individuals, High Net Worth Individuals (HNW/HNWI), Trusts & Estates, Fiduciaries, Partnerships, S-Corps, C-Corps and other passthrough entities.\nOversee and review preparation of individual and business tax returns including 1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065, 709, 1041, 706 and related state and local filings.\nManage and mentor tax staff and seniors; assign work, review deliverables, provide feedback and support professional development.\nPerform and supervise complex tax research and technical analysis on individual, partnership, corporate, fiduciary and international tax matters; document positions and prepare memos.\nProvide tax planning and structuring advice for ownership transfers, estate and gift planning, family offices, real estate and construction transactions, and professional services clients.\nCoordinate and lead M&A tax due diligence, structuring analyses and post-deal integration tasks; support transaction tax modeling and representations.\nPrepare and review tax provisions under ASC 740 and coordinate with accounting and finance teams on tax accounting (GAAP/IFRS) matters.\nAdvise on State & Local Tax (SALT) matters including nexus, apportionment and compliance; support tax controversy and audit defense as needed.\nSupport international tax and cross-border engagements including transfer pricing, FATCA/CRS/FBAR considerations, VAT/GST and withholding tax issues.\nIdentify and implement process improvements and technology solutions using tax software (ONESOURCE, CCH, Vertex, CorpTax), ERP systems (Oracle, SAP) and automation tools (Advanced Excel & VBA, Alteryx, Power Query, SQL).\nManage client communications, expectations and deliverables; present findings and recommendations to partners and clients and build long-term client relationships.\nStay current on tax law changes, BEPS/OECD guidelines, treaty analysis and best practices; contribute to training, technical resources and business development initiatives.\nEnsure quality control, firm policies compliance and timely filing; review billing, engagement letters and risk assessment for tax engagements.\nQualifications\nCertified Public Accountant (CPA) required or Enrolled Agent (EA) with significant experience; JD or LLM in Taxation highly desirable.\n7+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or equivalent role; prior experience as a Senior Tax Manager or Tax Supervisor preferred.\nDemonstrated technical expertise across Individual, Partnership, Corporate, Trust & Estate tax matters and experience with high net worth clients, family offices and fiduciary administrations.\nHands-on experience preparing and reviewing 1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065, 709, 1041, 706 and related state filings.\nStrong background in SALT, international tax, transfer pricing, tax provision (ASC 740), M&A tax and due diligence, and tax controversy support.\nFamiliarity with tax software and systems including ONESOURCE, CCH, Vertex, CorpTax, Oracle and general ERP integration; comfortable with FATCA/CRS/FBAR compliance.\nAdvanced technical skills in Microsoft Office (Excel), Advanced Excel & VBA, Alteryx/Power Query and SQL for tax automation and data analysis.\nProven ability to lead teams, manage multiple engagements, mentor staff and interact effectively with senior leadership and clients.\nExcellent written and verbal communication, project management and client service skills; strong attention to detail and ethical standards.\nExperience advising on real estate, construction and professional services tax issues and complex partnership allocations and structuring.\nKnowledge of R&D tax credits, payroll & withholding tax, indirect taxes (sales & use, VAT/GST) and incentives is a plus.\nComfortable performing tax research, preparing client memos, supporting audits and representing clients before tax authorities.\nActive CPA license in good standing (or ability to obtain) and willingness to maintain continuing professional education.\nFor this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
