As a contract employee, you'll work in a fast-moving, collaborative environment alongside engineers and product teams to help advance practical robotics solutions in the field.\r\nAs an Embedded Software Engineer I, you will participate in the full software development lifecycle for embedded systems operating on autonomous compactor robots. You will develop features, diagnose defects, and contribute to software integration across vehicle control, actuator, and sensor systems. This is a role for someone early in their embedded career who writes clean code, learns fast, and wants to work on real autonomous machines in the field.\r\nResponsibilities\r\n\r\n\r\nDevelop and maintain features for embedded applications on autonomous compactor platforms.\r\n\r\n\r\nDiagnose and resolve reported defects across vehicle control, actuator, and sensor systems.\r\n\r\n\r\nParticipate in systems engineering to support smooth software integration.\r\n\r\n\r\nWrite understandable, reusable C and C++ code following SOLID principles and design patterns.\r\n\r\n\r\nBuild and maintain unit, integration, and system simulation tests with a test-first approach.\r\n\r\n\r\nContribute to continuous refactoring and use distributed version control effectively.\r\n\r\n\r\nSupport fielded systems and collaborate with the team on integration issues.\r\n\r\n\r\nQualifications\r\n\r\n\r\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience designing and implementing embedded real-time software systems using C/C++.\r\n\r\n\r\nFamiliarity with large multithreaded embedded applications running on an RTOS.\r\n\r\n\r\nFamiliarity with electrical and mechanical systems.\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience with communication protocols such as CAN, TCP, UDP, SPI, or RS232 a plus.\r\n\r\n\r\nExposure to ROS/ROS2 or sensor interfacing including GPS, LiDAR, RADAR, or ultrasonics a plus.\r\n\r\n\r\nAbility to work in an open, collaborative team environment.\r\n\r\n\r\nPhysical Requirements\r\n\r\n\r\nAbility to remain in a stationary position at a computer workstation for extended periods.\r\n\r\n\r\nAbility to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment continuously.\r\n\r\n\r\nAbility to communicate and exchange information in person, via phone, and through electronic means.\r\n\r\n\r\nAbility to traverse office, lab, data center, and field environments as required.\r\n\r\n\r\nAt Autonomous Solutions Inc, we are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace where all employees and applicants have equal opportunities.
