Develop products using 3D CAD design tools and support transfer to manufacturing through creation of 2D design prints and bills of materials. Collaborate with R&D chemists and electrical engineers to develop new measurement technologies and capabilities.Key responsibilities:Designing custom water quality sensors conforming with product requirements for laboratory and industrial applicationsUtilizing Autodesk Inventor CAD software to create detailed 2D and 3D product designsProject and timeline management for new product development (NPD) projectsValidating product designs by assisting manufacturing to build product samples and executing performance validation testsDesign evaluation for manufacturability (DFM)Specifying component material requirements and collaborating with supply chain to qualify suppliersCreation and management of product bills of materialsEvaluation of product requirements feasibility and advising on alternative design tradeoffsEvaluating product costs including material and labor analysisTroubleshooting and root cause analysis of product failure modesEducational/Experience Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering2 - 5 years of engineering experience with a focus on product design, preferably for test and measurement applicationsExperience with CAD software, experience with Autodesk Inventor is preferredBasic understanding of BOM creation, both in CAD software and ERP software is preferredExperience working in a manufacturing environment is a plusQualifications:Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsStrong understanding of GD&T principlesStrong problem solving skills and ability to analyze and evaluate design and manufacturing tradeoffsExpertise designing parts for injection molding or machining manufacturing processes is a plusExpertise with 3D printing part fabrication is a plusCompensation:Competitive base salary (salary range of $70k-$80k DOE)Competitive benefits package including 401KAnnual bonuses based on profit growth of the company#sensorex #LI-KH1Not the right fit?
