Duties and Responsibilities : This individual has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks.Oversee the integration of numerous interconnected subsystems, such as cabin management systems, in-flight entertainment, water systems, climate control systems, etc., ensuring the components function as one unit and work together without conflicts. Participate in design reviews, technical reviews, and customer meetings. Develop a system architecture and/or a blueprint detailing how various subsystems interact. Define system components and their interconnections.Ensure that system requirements are properly defined, allocated, tested, and delivered in accordance with customer, regulatory, and program requirements. Define technical scope, performance goals, manage requirements, and safety constraints for aircraft subsystems during requirements analysis. Ensure the design meets safety, reliability and efficiency standards. Select technologies that align with performance goals. Analyze component failures, evaluate service bulletins, and propose product design improvements.Conduct simulations and prototype testing in order to oversee the integration of the components Identify and resolve compatibility issues. Validate system performance through rigorous testing. Identify potential technical risks and develop strategies to mitigate safety risks. Conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA). Implement redundancy and fail-safe mechanisms.Ensure compliance with safety standards.. Develop strategies for predictive maintenance to prevent unexpected failures and in order for systems to perform reliably over decades. Upgrade software and hardware to improve performance. Develop strategies for end-of-life disposal or repurpose of aerospace components. Adhere to airworthiness standards, aerospace industry guidelines, and/or FAA/EASA protocols. Build bench test plans, run test simulations, and troubleshoot integration errors. Prepare and maintain technical documentation throughout the product lifecycle. Other duties as assigned.RequiredKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of project planning and execution. Familiarity with system architecture, integration, verification, and validation practices. Understanding of avionics, cabin management systems, in-flight entertainment systems and air data interferences. Knowledge of system development lifecycle methodologies. Experience with requirements management tools, wiring diagrams, schematics, and simulation software. Knowledge of requirements management and traceability methodologies. Familiarity with systems modeling tools and requirements management software. Knowledge of aerospace standards and regulatory requirements. Strong analytical, technical documentation, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Demonstrate problem-solving aptitude and teamwork. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Systems, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline. Minimum of 5 years of systems engineering experience, preferably in aerospace, defense, aviation, or related industries.. Experience serving as the technical liaison with multidisciplinary engineering teams, customers, suppliers, and program management to ensure internal processes. Experience with requirements management and systems engineering processes. Experience with integration and test planning and configuration management. Experience with systems engineering processes throughout the product lifecycle.Working ConditionsOffice, laboratory, and manufacturing environments. Occasional travel to customer sites, test facilities, suppliers, or program locations.Physical RequirementsAbility to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods. Occasional lifting of up to twenty-five pounds. Ability to access manufacturing, integration, and test areas as needed.
